Flipped Classroom

We pride ourselves on a strong educational mission that is exemplified by our innovative formal curriculum. Maimonides was one of the first EM programs in the country to implement a flipped classroom model for core content learning and continues to be a pioneer in adult learning techniques. Each week, our residents spend time learning in small group settings facilitated by EM faculty on a variety of topics essential to the practice of Emergency Medicine.

Shock Trauma - In the PGY-2 year, four weeks are spent at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, one of the nation’s largest trauma centers, where the idea of the “Golden Hour” was born.
